The Urban Dance European Network Project follows the previous dance network project called Hip Hop Dance Laboratory.
The Urban Dance European Network Project objectives are:
– Training for Hip-Hop European dancers by integrating professional choreographic projects.
– Promoting intercultural dialogue via transnational creative projects.
– Promoting hip hop culture within the European creative landscape in collaboration with recognised choreographers.
– Developing and enlarge the Urban Dance European Network of professionals in order to sustain expansion of professional practices.
These objectives will be put into practice via the following actions:
– Networking events and meetings with collaborators to reflect and think strategically on professionnalisation and on street-projects development across Europe.
– Crossed residencies and “masterclasses”: A choreographer travels to a partner country and develop a new artistic proposal with local participants to then tour Europe on different stages linked to our network. The invited choreographer/dancer organises “masterclasses” to exchange around his expertise.
– Hip Hop Dance Platforms: Organisation of an European Night with all residencies participants, as well as invited professionals and members of the public.
– A special creative project by Mourad Merzouki and Kader Belmoktar: 10 dancers from all partner countries will participate in this initiative.
