THIRD COUNTRY COOPERATION PROJECTS

IDP-CREA was a 15-month collaborative project (April 2008 to July 2009) between six EU partners (from the UK, Hungary, France, and Germany) and three associate partners from China. This innovative project drew together some of the remarkable stories of the European explorers, archaeologists and scholars who travelled to China in the early years of the twentieth century. Their stories were used to illustrate a shared Eurasian culture that has existed for centuries and which continues to this day. IDP-CREA has successfully developed IDP’s collaborative model by including three European partners and added 69,648 new images and metadata to the IDP website. These new partnerships have been made while ensuring the participation of three Chinese partners and institutions, and together have added significant European value to IDP activities and have promoted European awareness of a shared Eurasian heritage to European users.
