Creation of the EUROPEAN LABORATORY OF HIP HOP DANCE: Co-operative Research Project on Hip Hop Dance Choreographic Creation at European Level.
Banlieues d’Europe and its partners invite you to discover the launching of the activities of the first European Laboratory of Hip Hop Dance.
ORIGIN: This project came out of the European Seminar “Hip Hop Dance: History and Prospects” held on 23 September 2008 in Bron, France by Banlieues d’Europe , European Cultural Network (France) and Liczarts Urbains (Belgium), in partnership with the Käfig Company in the framework of the Diversidad project (European Music Office – European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, motivated by the European Commission).
OBJECTIVES: Co-ordinated by Banlieues d’Europe and financed by the European Commission in the framework of the Culture Programme, the objective of this project is to develop choreographic research and to encourage intercultural exchange between dancers in different countries.
ACTIVITIES IN 2010-2011: In the framework of the events of the partners of the Laboratory, residences and master classes aimed at amateur and professional dancers from all over Europe will be organized, as well as choreographic research work, implicating professional European dancers and supervised by STORM, celebrated German choreographer.
