The European Union Baroque Orchestra (EUBO) was established in 1985 to further the education and training of young European musicians, who perform music from the baroque period on instruments similar to those used at the time. It also aims to advance the education of the public throughout Europe in the art of baroque music in particular through EUBO’s performances, broadcasts and recordings. Each year EUBO gives a new group of young musicians from all EU Member States crossing the bridge to professional careers the opportunity to be directed by some of the world’s finest musicians and to give performances of the highest professional quality in major festivals and concert venues throughout the EU. Each year EUBO provides a constantly refreshed pool of experienced talent for the benefit of the music profession; acts as a ‘mobile European conservatory of music’; and is an Ambassador for Europe and Culture to many thousands who experience and are enriched by its dazzling performances.
