On 13 June at Europe House in London, we will be holding a day-long event outlining a range of EU funding opportunities relevant to the arts and cultural sector. The Information Day will provide practical information, case studies of successful projects and the chance to meet a number of the EU contact points who will also be making presentations. EU Culture Programme Seminar in Norwich on 19 May

The CCP will be running a presentation at the Norfolk and Norwich Festival on 19 May at the Augustine Steward House, Norwich. The Executive Agency have published the lists of successful applications to the Culture programme’s ‘Multi-annual cooperation projects’ and ‘Cooperation measures’ Strands (1.1 and 1.2.1). Congratulations to all successful applicant organisations!

Consultation on ‘Creative Europe’ – the DCMS needs your input!

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has opened a consultation for the proposed ‘Creative Europe’ programme (see this post). In order for the UK cultural and creative sectors to be represented, it is very important that the DCMS receive your views, needs and input on ‘Creative Europe’, whether this will be a useful programme for the sectors and whether the UK government will support this, and how, in the ongoing negotiations between EU member states. Proposal of “Creative Europe” announced

The European Commission announced its detailed proposal for ‘Creative Europe’, the new programme for the cultural and creative sector. The programme is part of the Commission’s proposal for a multi-annual budget for 2014-2020 and will bring the current Culture, MEDIA and MEDIA Mundus programmes together under a common frame which will support the cultural and creative sectors with a budget of €1.8 billion (which would be an increase of 37%).

Next funding opportunity: Cooperation projects with Third Countries (Strand 1.3.5)

The selected country for the current call is South Africa (deadline 04 May 2012) and for the 2013 call it is Australia and Canada (deadline May 2013). To remind you, this strand is for Cooperation projects with (at least) three European arts/culture/heritage partners and (at least) a partner from the ‘selected Third Country’. More information about this Strand here. The application form for 2012 is not yet available but do look at the 2011 documents in the meantime, they can be found on the Executive Agency’s website here.

Not sure about your proposed activities?
Can’t quite understand the 3 objectives or the 7 key criteria?
Lost in the various parts of the application forms?
Having problems with the budget spreadsheets?
HELP IS AT HAND!

Surgeries provide assistance for organisations at a relatively advanced stage in the development of an application to the EU Culture programme – i.e. organisations who have all (or nearly all) their partners and are in the process of completing the actual application forms.

Surgeries are not the place to go for general information on EU funding for culture or on the EU Culture programme itself. Apart from this website, general information is also provided via the Information Days offered by the CCP during the year, and the ‘CulturEuro’ seminars offered by Euclid (store.culture.info). To make best use of your surgery time (up to 45 minutes), it is essential that you send, prior to your surgery, a brief summary which includes:

Which Strand you are applying to (1.1, 1.2.1, 1.2.2, 1.3.5, 1.3.6, 2).
A list of partner organisations and status of their commitment.
Your (draft) project summary (part C.7 of application form).
How your project will address the Culture Programme’s three specific objectives.
A summary of the proposed project activities/events, and their locations.

Surgeries will take place on Wednesday afternoons, 2-6pm in central London.
